New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve is going to be a little different this year!

This year, because everyone has to leave by 11pm, we are going to dust off our time machine and whisk everyone forward 2 hours.
We will celebrate the New Year at 10pm – and just pretend it’s midnight!

Obviously, if Covid-19 restrictions are eased before New Year – we can re-plan.
Our celebrations are subject to a minimum number of people attending

We have a lovely menu for you to share with friends or family.
Hopefully it will be a maximum of 6 people per party. Sorry, there’ll be no dancing this year.

Amuse bouche

  • A selection of tasty morsels to whet your appetite

Starters

  • Venison scotch egg spiced apple chutney and pickled red onion
  • Roasted pumpkin soup toasted pumpkin seeds and rape seed oil – warm savoury scone (v gfo)
  • Smoked trout salad with sliced apple and toasted almonds (gf n)
  • Japanese chicken gyoza with sliced cucumber, pickled red onion and dipping sauce

Mains

  • Wild mushroom ravioli with wilted spinach and garlic butter – topped with a rocket salad and Parmesan (v)
  • Baked hake fillet crispy bhajis and a mild curry sauce with crushed new potatoes and a tangy dressed salad (gf)
  • Chicken fillet with a creamy mushroom Madeira sauce, fondant potatoes and vegetables (gf)
  • Lamb leg steak with a mint and redcurrant jus, dauphinoise potatoes and vegetables
  • Beef bourguignon with black pepper and parsley mash potatoes and vegetables

Desserts

  • Pear, chocolate and frangipane tart served warm with chocolate orange ice-cream
  • Lemon posset with boozy berry compote meringue kiss and mango crumbles (gf)
  • Trio taster chocolate pot with caramel Bailey’s mousse – ice-cream gateaux wrapped in white chocolate – chocolate brownie (n)
  • Lifton Hall cheese board with crackers and Christmas chutney (gfo)
