when you are staying with us.
WILD SPACES
Lifton village sits just a few short miles away from the wild and wonderful Dartmoor National Park – it’s an amazing place, with over 345 square miles for walking, horse riding, climbing and more.
We are also very close to Exmoor National Park and Bodmin Moor.
And a stone’s throw from the Tamar Valley – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
GRAND HOUSES
Devon and Cornwall has a large number of grand houses and stately homes. Check out the National Trust and English Heritage websites for what’s nearby.

Lanhydrock – Victorian estate, gardens and woodland
Castle Drogo – dramatic castle overlooking Teign gorge

A LITTLE MORE ACTIVE

BEST BEACHES
In the southwest we are spoilt for choice with some great beaches. Our favourites are:
Crackington Haven – tucked away little beach with great cafes, car parking and toilets
Widemouth Bay – larger beach with cafes, pubs, parking and life guards. Dogs welcome at one end
Trebarwith Strand – another great beach that disappears when the tide is in – so check the tide times!
LOVELY GARDENS
We are literally spoiled for choice when it comes to a garden to visit. There are 16 world class gardens less than 60 minutes drive away.
Our favourites include:
The Garden House – one of the finest gardens in Britain
Lost Gardens of Heligan – 200 acres of history and romance
Eden Project – world famous garden and eco-project
Rosemoor – magical RHS garden
