The safety and well-being of our guests and our team are our absolute priority

Our whole team is geared up to serve you safely, look after their own safety – and to make sure that you have an enjoyable and relaxing time at Lifton Hall

HOTEL GUESTS

Book with confidence
When you book a room directly with us, you can cancel without penalty up until 48 hours before arrival.

Please contact us if you have booked via an agent, with a third-party deal or if you have to cancel within 48 hours of arrival. We can discuss the options open to you.

Please do not come if you:

  • should be isolating
  • have any of the symptoms of Covid-19
  • have been in contact with anyone who has symptoms.

Extra clean rooms
Our rooms have always been very clean, but we have enhanced our procedures. We are opening windows to let the Devon countryside air flow through and sanitising each room between guests.

Face covering
Guests are required to wear a face covering in public areas. Unless you are exempt, please wear a face mask when arriving and moving around the hotel.

Before arrival
To help make check-in quick minimising any contact, please be ready to provide:

  • names of all guests
  • card details to be used for check-out payment
  • an email address
  • car registration.

When you arrive, please:

  • wear a face covering
  • use the front door – from the car park
  • ring the bell on reception.

Breakfast

  • You will be asked to book a slot – this helps us to reduce contact between guests
  • Your room name will be on the table
  • We have removed the buffet element of our breakfast – everything will be provided by your server.

Evening meals or just a drink

We are operating table only service. Please let us know if you would like to book a table. We have a reduced number of tables, so cannot guarantee a table in the bar for pre-dinner drinks. See details under ‘Restaurant Customers’ – above right.

House-keeping
To help reduce contact we have slightly reduced our housekeeping service. Each morning, the housekeeper will:

  • top-up teas/coffees and provide clean mugs
  • remove used crockery/cutlery
  • empty full bins.

The housekeeper will not make your bed or fold towels. We are happy to replace towels left in the shower or bath – but ask you to think twice!

Check-out
To keep check-out as contactless as possible, our booking system can take payment remotely. You will be emailed on the morning of departure and can pay online. If you prefer, you can check-out with a member of the team.

RESTAURANT & AFTERNOON TEA CUSTOMERS

Please do not arrive earlier than the time you have booked. 

We offer table service only. On arrival, please ring the bell on reception and wait to be taken to a table. Do not walk into the bar.

All customers are required to wear a face covering (unless exempt) on arrival and when moving around the building. Face masks can be removed once you are sat at a table.

To help with social distancing, we have removed some tables and spaced everything out. We can’t achieve 2m distancing between all our tables, but there is at least 1m+. We have tried to position tables so that you will not be facing another group.

Because we have less tables, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to sit at a particular table. We will try our best. Please let us know if you are bringing a dog with you so we can make sure you get the right table.

Track and Trace
All customers aged 16+ are required to check-in using the ‘Track and Trace app’ and prove that they have checked-in. If you prefer, you can give contact details (name and phone number).

We are sorry, but we are not allowed to serve you if you refuse to comply with Track and Trace. All written information is kept securely for 21 days and then destroyed. We do not share info or use it for marketing.

Who can come
The ‘Rule of 6’ applies – maximum 6 people or 2 households.

Tables will be separated to allow social distancing.

Please do not come if you:

  • have any of the symptoms of Covid-19
  • have been in contact with anyone with symptoms.

On arrival, please:

  • please wear a face covering until sat at your table
  • use the front door – from the car park
  • all arrive together
  • stick to your time slot – we are spacing arrival times
  • ring the bell on reception and wait to be taken to a table.

We cannot guarantee a table if you turn up early.

While at Lifton Hall, please:

  • maintain social distancing
  • do not interact with any other tables
  • use the hand sanitisers
  • wear a face covering when moving around the building
  • follow the guidance you are given
  • respect other people’s space.

Once you have finished your meal, the guidance states that you should leave the premises.
