Food and wineMeals are an essential part of the Lifton Hall experience. We have something to suit every taste and appetite, using only the best quality local produce wherever possible. We aim to serve good, honest food. We have an excellent butcher and fishmonger, and a great supply of fresh fruit and vegetables across all seasons.

We’re well known for our hand-cut chips, and there’s nothing better than a proper chip to accompany your fish or steak.

To keep your choices varied the menu changes from day-to-day, although it will always include some old favourites, like rump steak and gammon ham, egg and chips. We always have a selection of special dishes available to supplement the core menu. For those who prefer not to eat meat we offer a small selection of vegetarian meals and can usually rustle up something if there’s nothing you fancy on the menu.

Sunday lunch is always a roast dinner with a choice of meats and all the trimmings. Every other Tuesday is a food themed night, and past nights have included Italian, Chinese, Mexican and Indian. Its always best to book on a Tuesday night.

• Buffalo Mozzarella & Tomato Salad with Ripped Basil, Olive Oil & Balsamic Dressing
• Lemon & Lime Marinated Organic Salmon - made on the premises, and very popular
• Duck 'Cracker' Spring Rolls with Hoi Sin dip
• Salmon, Lime Zest & Dill Cakes with Lemon & Lime Mayonnaise
• Chicken & Pork Liver Pate - wrapped in Bacon, served with granary toast

Mains
• Organic Thai Salmon Fishcake, Hand-cut Chips or New Potatoes and Salad
• Hand Carved Devonshire Gammon Ham, cooked on the premises, served with Free Range Eggs & Hand-cut Chips
• Pasta with a Creamy Pesto Sauce and Stir-Fried Green Vegetables Topped with Roasted Cherry Tomatoes on the Vine
• Breaded Salmon & Yellow Fin Goujons with Salad, Hand-cut Chips & Tartare Sauce
• Surf 'N' Turf - 8 oz Rump with Scampi, Salad & Hand-cut Chips

Desserts
• Pan-fried Saffron Cake with Fruit Compote & Vanilla Ice-cream
• Pavlova with Cream & Mixed Fresh Fruits
• Chocolate Pot - A delightful confection of Chocolate, Cream, Eggs and Brandy.
Served cold with Cookies
• Warm Rhubarb Compote with Pistachio & Ginger Bars. Served with Clotted Cream
