Devon

It's difficult to know which attractions to tell you about across Devon, as there are so many great ones.

Cities

To start with the cities of Exeter and Plymouth are both worth a look. Exeter has a lovely cathedral that is surrounded by a delightful square lined with shops and eateries, that is a perfect place to spend a few sunny hours. Plymouth has the historic Hoe and the Barbican, where you can find the National Marine Aquarium, with Britain's deepest tank.

Beaches and moor landDartmoor

There are some great beaches, such as Bude, Widemouth Bay (pronounced Widmouth) and Trebarwith Strand. There's also some great moor land to explore - Dartmoor is just up the road. In fact, there are loads of outdoor activities to do in Devon, and plenty of green things too.

Trains and otters

Some of the more 'formal' attractions on offer include: the South Devon Steam Railway, that runs between Buckfastleigh and Totnes, and the Butterfly Farm and Otter Sanctuary, that is educational and great fun too.

Great houses

There are plenty of great houses and National Trust properties within easy reach of the hotel. Morwellham Quay is an award winning museum on the banks of the river Tamar, just outside Tavistock. Other houses of note are: Castle Drogo and Buckland Abbey.
