On offer to our guests and to people that live locally, we have traditional Thai yoga massage, Aroma massage, sports massage and a selection of beauty treatments.

Traditional Thai yoga massage

Traditional Thai yoga massage is an ancient healing art. It works on the energy line systems (the Ten Sen) through which the body's natural life force flows. Blockages in this life force cause aches, pains and disease.

By using hands, feet and elbows to apply pressure along these lines, in combination with gentle stretching and applied hatha yoga, the blocked energy is released. This frees the body's own natural healing potential, restoring balance, health and harmony.

The massage is given through your clothes - please ensure they are loose fitting and comfortable. Allow two hours for a full massage. Shorter massages are available.

Aroma massage

Feeling tired? Aching? Stressed? Having trouble sleeping? Or perhaps you simply deserve a treat or some time out?

Aroma massage is a holistically based, Swedish-style massage using small amounts of aromatherpy oils. This massage is great if you need to relax, re-energise or revive.

Suzie Preston is ITEC and WMA registered and will be doing aroma massage at Lifton Hall on Thursdays between 10am and 2pm. She's also available some evenings and weekends by  prior arrangement. Gift vouchers are available.

Massage and beauty therapies from Tavistock Massage & Sports Injury Centre

Lifton Hall is delighted to have teamed up with Tavistock Massage & Sports Injury Centre, who now also offer beauty treatments. All treatments are available at the hotel in our therapy room, or possibly in the guest bedroom.

Treatments available include:

• Holistic massage - a gentle, relaxing massage to relieve knots and tension caused by everyday life (60–90 mins)
   
• Indian head and face massage - a relaxing yet stimulating massage working on the upper back, neck and shoulders as well as the head and face (60 mins)
   
• Eastern face lift - based on Ayurevedic healing, this technique helps to relax and rejuvenate, reducing puffiness and aging (60 mins)
   
• Hopi ear candling - a traditional, relaxing treatment with several medical benefits, such as helping with tinnitus, hearing problems, sinusitis and hay fever (60 mins)
   
• Aromatherapy massage - using essential oils that are chosen depending on your individual circumstances and health. Very relaxing with several medical benefits (60–90 mins) 
   
• Sports/deep tissue massage - can be focused on a specific area, or as a full body treatment. Helps to release knots and tension, as well as improving muscle tone, strength and flexibility (60–90 mins)
   
• Lymphatic drainage massage - very gentle treatment to help stimulate the lymphatic system, encouraging toxins and waste materials to drain away. Popular for reducing cellulite and can aid in a weight loss programme (60 mins)
   
• Hot stone massage - very relaxing massage to the back or as a full body treatment (60–90 mins).
