THE INN

The oldest part of the building was originally three cottages, and in the past the Lifton Hall was called the Cottage Hotel. As a link to the past we've named the inn The Cottage Bar.

The bar was refurbished in early 2007 and had a freshen-up in 2011. It's a great place to enjoy a glass of your favourite tipple, whether that be a cold lager, a local real ale or a glass of wine. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal. We seldom (if ever) show any sport and apart from the occasional party night, the volume of music is kept in the background.

In the summer the thick walls keep the bar cool and there are two outside seating areas for those who like to sit in the sun. In the winter the bar is cosy with two log fires.

Drink

We stock a full range of alcoholic and soft drinks, as well as serving tea and freshly brewed Fairtrade coffee. Many of our drinks come from the West Country, including the Otter Brewery in Devon, and the Cornish breweries Skinner's and St Austell. We also stock Luscombe Organic Drinks. Our guest ale rotates among a selection of locally brewed, often award winning, beers.

Eat

If you fancy something to eat we offer a full bar menu. Most of our food is made on the premises and freshly prepared, and we always try to source our ingredients from local supplies and growers. We even grow some of the fruit and veg ourselves.

Tuesday Night Food Club

Every Tuesday something happens at the Lifton Hall . Each first and third Tuesday, and the fifth (if there is one) is a food themed night - which we call our Tuesday Night Food Club. We try to source all the main ingredients from within 10 miles and to keep the price around £10 for members. The food is usually themed to a country and the nights are a great opportunity to try different foods from around the world.

Popular nights have included: Greek, Japanese, Indian and Spanish. Membership of the Club is free and members get loyalty bonuses and special offers. Please contact us if you'd like more information or would like to join the club.

Pub quiz

The other Tuesdays in the month are Pub Quiz nights. The fun kicks off at 8pm in the bar. There's a prize for the winning team - a booby prize for the losers, plus the BUSTER round with an accumulating jackpot that once reached £160 before being won. If you'd like to join us just pop along - it's the second and forth Tuesdays of every month. You can check the dates on our Events calendar.

If you fancy a quick bite to eat before the quiz, we offer a Quiz Night Curry that's available from 6pm - for £6. Pre-booked only please.

Parties

The bar is a perfect place to hold a private party. We are happy to provide catering to suit your requirements and budget. Either pop in or give us a call and we'll be happy to discuss your plans.
