Lifton Hall Hotel
Lifton Hall Hotel has been described as one of Devon’s
most attractive and interesting hotels. The building is grade II listed
and parts of it date back to about 1611. It is brimming with period features,
traditional character and fascinating tales, reportedly including a ghost
or two. We are a friendly, family run hotel and aim to make your stay in
Devon as pleasant and relaxing as possible.
The entrance hall provides a dramatic introduction to the hotel, with its Cornish slate floor, winding staircase leading to a galleried landing, and a high ceiling supporting a fine chandelier. Lifton Hall Hotel was extended in the early 1800s by the church when gothic features were added. We now have ten large and individual bedrooms, each offering comfortable accommodation with their own bathroom/shower room. One of our bedrooms is on the ground floor and easily reached without the need to climb stairs.
We welcome families in the hotel and two of our rooms can easily accommodate
up to four people (two adults and two children or three adults). We also
welcome well behaved dogs – as long as you let us know in advance.
The Lifton Hall Hotel sits on the main road through Lifton village. Outside we have a large private car park surrounded by mature shrubs and a split level garden with mature trees. There are two patio areas, one on either side of the building, where you can quietly sit reading your daily paper with a fresh coffee, or indulge yourself with a Devon Cream Tea made with freshly made scones and thick, Devon clotted-cream and strawberry jam.
Get freshly prepared, locally sourced, quality food in our restaurant.
Try a local ale or fine wine by the open fire in the traditional village inn.
Lifton Hall is non-smoking throughout.
We try to be as environmentally friendly as possible and are always looking for new ways to save energy whilst maintaining a warm and cosy home from home.
Free Wi-Fi available in many areas of the hotel.
